Where to Obtain Maps--

The Great Western Trail Association, along with numerous volunteers and government agencies have been working hard to produce maps of the trail route through Utah, the most complete section along the trail system.

A map book, covering northern Utah, is currently being sold in numerous retail outlets. Another map book, covering southern Utah to the Arizona border, should be available later this year.

Other maps are also available, indicating sections of the GWT, including some produced by the Forest Service and Trails Illustrated. However, none of the maps, currently available from these sources, indicate the entire route of the Great Western Trail.

If there is a map section you would like to have available, contact the local Ranger Station, appropriate government agency, or Trails Illustrated and let them know that you want a complete map of the GWT trail system. Each call will help inform the appropriate map making individuals as to the need and demand for upgraded mapping in each area.

Obviously, the areas with the highest level of inquiry will receive the most attention from the map makers.
